14 To Arrange

March 2025

Professor Sahar Khraibani3d modeled and created with Spline

For this project I was given the verb “to arrange,” which I interpreted as to put things in a neat order, or to organize something. I began by thinking about how arrangement functions as both a physical action and as an emotional gesture. A bedroom is one of the most personal spaces we inhabit; it is where identity presents itself. To arrange a bedroom is not simply to place objects in space, but to construct a version of yourself.

For this project, I 3D modeled a collection of everyday bedroom objects, such as furniture, décor, and other personal items. I then created an interactive environment where viewers can drag and position these elements to design their own space. By transforming arrangement into a participatory act, the work shifts authorship from artist onto the audience. Each configuration becomes a quiet self-portrait, revealing different habits and personality through decision-making. This project explores arrangement as a form of storytelling. What we choose to display reflects how we construct and show our identity.
